Crossbuck Cattle Co. focuses on raising “happy cows”…not just because it is a more humane way to treat other living things, but because it creates better beef - tender, well-marbled, juicy, and extremely flavorful beef.

Our Process

From the moment the calves are born on the KV Ranch, they are nurtured by their mother. They are raised in an open, natural, and comfortable environment designed to remove as much stress as possible from their lives.

There are programs in place to ensure they have an abundance of shade and easy access to multiple clean and fresh water sources. They are allowed plenty of room to roam with strategically placed scratching brushes and aggressive fly control and prevention in the barns and gathering areas. More Comfort = More Marbling.


It’s more than just a feeding program, it’s about creating the optimal environment for these cows, because we have determined that happy cows make happy beef.

Our Feeding Program

Once they are weaned, they move to a sustainable pasture where they put on weight naturally and are monitored by the ranch to ensure their needs are met.  Once they have reached the desired weight, they are moved to a finishing pasture where they are fed a carefully balanced diet of natural grass, hay and grain to develop optimal fat content. To ensure natural and healthy growth, no growth hormones are used. The goal is quality…not speed.
